MWC 2012
So it was MWC last week and to be honest devices might be one side of it but the other half is most defiantly the parties!
For now however here is a post I wrote for a journalist on my first day at MWC dont think it has been uploaded but thought I would share it.
Dont worry I will share my party wows with you shortly, soon as it quietens down here at work (yes still in the office at 9pm).
So I will talk you through my highlights, starting at the impressive Android stand complete with slide and automated robots. The great thing about this stand is that if you don't have all the time in the world you can view most of the Android phones here, and with Android being the big thing here that means you will see pretty much 80% of the devices which are on show at MWC. Not only do they have a lot of devices to test and play with but they also have a carousel that rotates through a bunch of different Androd products like a moving time line.
After the Android stand I headed to the Samsung one which was dedicated to the new Galaxy Note 10.1 a great update to the Galaxy Tab 10.1. They also showed off the Galaxy Beam an Android phone with a projector. Like the Note 5.3 the 10.1 features a stylus made with the help of Wacom.
Epson also was showing off some AR glasses which projected an Android phone into your eye balls. To be honest I am hoping that the Google one will be more comfortable.
Interestingly Windows had a tiny stand as it looks like they just left it to Nokia who had a huge one with a tiny area dedicated to a very weird phone. That being a 41 mega pixel camera phone running Symbian, that's right a new phone running a dead operating system.
By far the biggest surprise for me was the new HTC phones. Which seem absolutely beautiful, thin and well designed they show what HTC can do when they put their mind to it.
Over all though it looks like the first day is the one where you catch your breath and get your bearings, saving energy for tomorrow..."
