What I want to see at CES
So CES is coming up and as per usual it looks like it is going to be another busy couple of days. Unfortunately I am not going this year but will hopefully have the Verge plugged directly into my head for the duration.
So what do I want to see...
Thin awesome TVs with LG showing off their OLED TV. Plus it will be interesting to see what Samsung have to offer as they have already put up posters advertising a Super OLED TV (Picture below thanks to the Verge).
Google TV I am hoping to see something more substantial this year as so far Google TV has really let me down. My own opinion is that it was a little before its time and was available in a way that was way to awkward. What I want to see are more TVs running it natively like the LG one.
Tablets should be here there and everywhere! Hopefully that will include something new and interesting, maybe the Asus Padphone running a beta build of Ice Cream Sandwich?
In the same vein as the Tablets are the Ultrabooks and prepare to see a lot of them. Which is great as at the minute if you wanted a thin light and powerful laptop you had to get a Apple Macbook Air. So hopefully there will be some competition being shown, with a lot being expected from HP's Spectre which has been teased here and there.
I recently bought a Canon 550D camera (one of my pics below of my Galaxy Nexus) and I absolutely love it! Which is why I would love to see some nice shinny new cameras. The new Nikon D4 has already been said to be on show, so if you like your high end cameras then this is going to be a good year for you.
As for mobile expect Android Ice Cream Sandwich and some devices running the quad core nVidia Tegra 3 processor. Windows Phone 7 will also need to make an impact here with Nokia said to be showing off a LTE device called the Ace, fingers crossed this one will have a front facing camera as the Lumia 800 didnt which was a bit of a shame.
Finally this will be the last Keynote from Microsoft so can they end with a bang? Personally I am hoping for the PC connected Kinect even though we may have to wait for Windows 8 but maybe we will see a prototype.
